Lewis receives Ron Culp Scholarship for mentorship

Washington, D.C. (October 15) — The Public Relations Student Society of America announced Melaina Lewis as the 2014 recipient of the Ron Culp Scholarship at its National Conference in Washington, D.C.

NSCAA coverage of OU/Miami game features nine JSchool students

At the Scripps School, we love soccer. More particularly, we love to cover soccer. And yesterday, students from the school who took part this past summer in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America World Cup program in Europe got to help cover the live broadcast of the OU/Miami game.

Bobby Walker, a JSchool sophomore double-majoring in Womens, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (HTC), recently was elected to the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) Board of Directors.

This week the school hosts (1) one of the world’s experts on media ethics, (2) the photographer who took the “Tank Man” photo back in 1989, (3) an alumna named 2011 PR Professional of the Year (Corporate), and (4) a group of students and scholars from our partner university in Leipzig, Germany.

  • Heather Mitchell, Head of Global PR & Social Media, Unileverworks and the 2011 PR Pro of the Year (Corporate), will speak in JOUR 1010 (Tuesday at noon, Walter Hall 135). Mitchell has worked in Chicago, New York, and now is based in London.
