Congrats on new website at The Post

If you missed it, The Post launched its re-designed website, to go along with its re-designed print edition.

Even though lots of folks assume that we run The Post, the fact is we don’t. Just like everyone else, we find out what’s in the newspaper when we read it in print or online. In other words, we can’t — and don’t try to — tell the editor or the staff what to write in The Post.

That doesn’t mean we don’t have opinions about The Post, again, pretty much like everyone else on campus. Recently, Joe Ragazzo asked me to sit down with him to talk with him about I think he and his staff have done this year. Without going into the details of that conversation, I can tell you that yes, we did sit down and talk, and yes, I did offer some thoughts about how The Post is doing.

One of my “issues” with The Post was its website, which seemed out of date and lacking. Ragazzo assured me that the new site was in the works. So I’ve been looking forward to today’s launch.

Here’s my two cents about the new website:

1. its definitely an improvement, especially in the readability department. I also like the ease with with articles can be posted to Facebook, etc.

2. it needs to get even better; for example, be sure to include published dates on the actual article pages. A simple fix, and you’ll easily figure out how to make it happen.

Let me know if we can help. Otherwise, we stand on the sidelines and cheer you on.
