Lecture on WikiLeaks open to the public

JSchool alumnus Jonathan Peters’ Kappa Tau Alpha Lecture will examine the strength of legal protections afforded Wikileaks.

Peters’ talk will be part of the KTA induction ceremony, during which new initiates join the honorary society associated with journalism education. Only students in the top ten percent of their graduating class are invited to join KTA. The program will be held on June 2 at 5 p.m. (Scripps 111). The ceremony is open to the public.

Peters, who will teach communication law for the JSchool this summer, has published three articles on the subject in major national outlets since April, most recently in Wired.

WikiLeaks, the First Amendment, and the Press (Harvard Law and Policy Review)

Peters has a law degree from Ohio State University, and is currently a doctoral student at the University of Missouri.

A reception in the Scripps Hall Atrium will follow the program.
