Three bites of the Big Apple

Last week I received news from three recent alumni who are making their mark on New York City-based media.

Meghan Louttit (BSJ ’08) has just been promoted to multimedia producer for the New York Times’ Investigations unit. Louttit joined the Times in 2010 after working at the Washington Post, her first job out of school.

Jill Mapes (BSJ ’10) has left where she was Assistant Editor, joining a new digital content team with CBS radio as Associate Music Content Producer. Rumor has it that she’s being replaced at by another Bobcat. Stay tuned.

Patrick Henderson (BSJ ’11) has just been promoted to special projects producer for NY1, the cable news operation that covers New York City. In an email to his former adviser, Prof. Mary Rogus, he writes:

I will be covering special events such as the TriBeCa film festival, fashion week, and the Tony awards, but my main focus is going to be producing pieces that center around science math and technology for a 30 minute show that I will produce that airs on all time Warner cable properties every month or so called “It ain’t rocket science.” I’ll get to travel all over the country to cover science and technology related stories….

Congratulations on living the dream in the city that never sleeps.
