Experience: A 37 year career in journalism from a start as a page to a desk assistant for Walter Cronkite and a (West Coast) writer for Peter Jennings. My assignments have ranged from national political campaigns and Presidential assignments to war zones, state and papal visits, national and natural disasters. I have been a network staff producer, a freelancer, a news director, and a vice president of an online website’s news and production divisions. As a freelancer my news clients this year include ABC, CBS, CNBC, FOX and SKY News (UK). Production clients include national programs and documentary programs, live broadcasts and special events. I have been the media’s pool producer at high profile trials including Scott Peterson, Michael Jackson and O.J. Simpson (#4 in Las Vegas). Through work with the National Center on Courts and Media of the National Judicial College I have spoken to state and state supreme courts from Guam to Missouri to West Virginia, from Washington, California, Wyoming and Colorado among others. I have taught Journalism Ethics at San Francisco State University and lectured at UCLA and Stanford. I am currently teaching writing and production at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
