PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Joined faculty in 1986. Former contributing editor, Savvy Magazine, where she originated the column Modern Dilemma; magazine consultant; and free-lance writer. Lecturer, Journalism Department, University of Iowa, 1981-86; contributing editor (1976-84), consultant (1974-76), and managing editor (1971-74), 13-30 Corporation, a Knoxville, Tenn. publishing company; information officer, Oak Ridge (Tenn.) Associated Universities, 1974-76; editor for employee magazine, Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. in New York City, 1969-71.
