Henderson (BSJ '11) promoted to producer at NY1 News
Patrick Henderson (BS Journalism ’11) was recently promoted from news assistant to special projects producer at NY1 News, Time Warner Cable’s 24-hour news channel in New York City. In this position, Henderson’s main focus will be producing pieces that center around science, math and technology for a 30-minute show airing monthly on all Time Warner Cable properties. Henderson will get the opportunity to travel across the country covering science and technology stories.
In addition, Henderson will cover special events such as the TriBeca Film Festival, Fashion Week and the Tony Awards. In between producing shows, he will work with and assist NY1 living unit reporters’ and other producers’ stories.
According to Henderson, NY1 has been a great fit and he is "really excited to start on the new endeavor." He attributes his opportunities and success to both the journalism school and his advisor, Mary Rogus.
"Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that I would be doing exactly what I wanted, with the title of producer, in the number one television market on a national cable station less than one year out of college," Heanderson said. "And at 23-years old!"
