Job Title Student Worker - Writer

This would be initially for 5 hours beginning Spring 2017 and would be 15-20 hours beginning in Fall of 2017.

Job Description

Supports the Communications Department by assisting with articles for e-newsletters, website and Compass; proofreading; writing stories about college events; posting web updates; and general office tasks such as copying, filing and maintaining databases.

Minimum Qualifications
-Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a communications field or English, preferably Journalism.
-Able and willing to work up to 20 hours/week
-Experience with Microsoft Office
-Knowledge of AP style
-Excellent written and oral communication skills
-Ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritize projects and meet project deadlines
-Attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications
-Knowledge of AP style and electronic newsletters preferred

**Training on CommonSpot (a web design program) will be provided
