Student Ambassador - Career & Leadership Development Center

Job Description
-This position is for Fall Semester 2017-the position will be reposted in future fall and spring semesters, pending anticipated openings. For full consideration, please apply by April 28th.
-Facilitate workshops during fall and spring semesters for the campus community from the 21st Century Leadership Series, Professional Leadership Series, Foundations
-Assist with resume and cover letter review during drop-in hours in the CLDC
-Attend mandatory weekly hour long professional development meetings
-Attend mandatory weekly thirty minute meetings with supervisor
-Participate in training prior to each semester, in addition to ongoing training through staff meetings and one on one supervision meetings
-Fulfill duties of assigned special project
-Assist with all major events hosted by the CLDC
-Frequent evenings and some weekends required

Minimum Qualifications
-Flexibility to work a maximum of 10 hours per week while classes are in session, including finals week (supervision and all meetings are included in the 10 hours of work time)
-Ability to work evenings and weekends
-Cumulative GPA of 2.75/4.0 or higher
-Ability to display professionalism when working with the campus community and fellow CLDC employees
-Comfort with public speaking and facilitating to medium-large groups of people
-Desire to help peers maximize their potential through career and leadership development
-Ability to work in a team
-Effective time management skills and ability to be reliable and on time for scheduled shifts
-Excellent written and oral communication skills
-Customer service experience
-Ability to take initiative

Work Schedule
-Requires a maximum of 10 hours per week while school is in session, including finals week
-Students must participate in two mandatory facilitation and ambassador trainings prior to the start of work, one in April 2016 (approximately 1 hour) and one in August 2017 (approximately 8 hours)
-Frequent evenings and some weekends required
