KHOU seeking Sports Intern
KHOU 11, a TEGNA-owned CBS affiliate in Houston, is now accepting applications for paid summer internship in our News department. The deadline to apply is 4/1/17.
If you are a junior or senior in college and would like an internship with KHOU, this is your chance! KHOU is committed to hiring interns from colleges and accredited universities and providing hands-on experience that will be helpful in pursuing a career in the media industry in the future.
Internships offer you an opportunity to see if you are interested in pursuing a career in broadcast journalism, in multiple capacities. Our interns receive the benefit of being assigned a mentor, who will provide a platform to develop passion, skills and experience. Our mentors will provide a learning partnership withour interns, and teach them all there is to know about the fascinating world of television.
This internship will focus on learning how to conduct interviews, and how to shoot, write, and edit sports stories. You will have the opportunity to assist our news reporters in the field at sporting events and in the news studio.
Applicants must submit the following items for review and consideration:
-A two-page essay explaining why you would like to be selected for an internship
-Three (3) academic and/or professional reference letters
-Proof of class credit; interns must be able to receive class credit for participating in this program
