WSFA 12 News the news leader, dominant number one TV station in Montgomery, Alabama is looking for an Evening Reporter/Anchor (MMJ). Candidates must be energetic, driven, have solid news judgment, have strong reporting and live skills. Candidates must be able to tell difficult stories, possess an investigative edge and be creative – adapting to various news stories. He or she must be a leader in the newsroom and excel at breaking news coverage from the studio and in the field. The candidate must also be aggressive and consistent with coverage across all platforms. He or she must be skilled to shoot & edit their own stories and employ digital-first strategies. Candidate must have at least 3-years of experience as well as regular anchoring experience for at least a year. The successful candidate will be the nightside reporter for the 4/5/6/9/10pm newscasts four days a week and then anchor the 6, 9 and 10pm newscasts on Saturday’s. The candidate would have an opportunity to fill-in anchor for other newscasts as needed. Exceptional planning, consistency in delivering daily lead-type story ideas and creative storytelling are a must. Candidates must be a self-starter, develop reliable sources, demonstrate urgency in their delivery as well as possess very strong writing skills.
