You should address admission criteria and discuss why you feel your credentials should be reassessed for admission into the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism. You should detail the contributions you bring to the School, including any personal and/or professional experiences that make your application extraordinary. Please note that, in the tradition of sound journalism, the School seeks fact rather than persuasion.
  2. Updated grades and/or test scores. Please include an updated official transcript.

Optional Appeal Materials

You may choose to send no more than three samples of your original, individual work to demonstrate your journalistic talent and skill. However, please note that more consideration will be given to the required materials listed above. No appeal materials will be returned. Examples of typical submissions include, but are not limited to, newspaper clips, published articles or advertisements, video clips, scripts, etc. Do not send scrapbooks.

Students whose high school records do not meet the above requirements, but still meet university minimums, or students who do not gain entrance to the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism through appeal, will be offered admission to the university through the University College.
